Welcome to the Islamic Wealth Management course, and thank you for joining this learning community.
This course is designed to help you understand and apply key concepts in managing wealth in accordance with Islamic principles, focusing on personal financial management and the broader Islamic financial system.

The course will cover the five main pillars of Islamic wealth management: wealth generation, wealth accumulation, wealth protection, wealth purification, and wealth distribution. Through active learning methods, you will develop both conceptual understanding and practical analytical skills.

By the end of this course, you are expected to be able to:

  • analyze the key concepts and principles underlying Islamic wealth management;

  • explain the structure of wealth management in Islam and its differences from conventional financial management;

  • identify Sharia-compliant sources of wealth and distinguish them from non-compliant ones;

  • explain appropriate investment tools and evaluate their performance in line with Islamic ethics;

  • discuss the Takaful industry and its current challenges;

  • describe the roles and rules of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah, and the socio-economic implications of the faraid inheritance system;

  • calculate basic examples of inheritance distribution according to Islamic law.

This course is non-credit bearing and open to a wide audience. The course will be conducted in English in a self-paced mode. The main methods include asynchronous study through idols.ui.ac.id, watching instructional videos, participating in discussions, completing quizzes, and reading assigned materials.
